Today was pretty cool because I got to add some new additions to our Christmas tree. I love Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments, because they're just that...keepsakes. They stay with you year after year and become a part of your families memories. I may not be all into the holiday spirit, but I loved getting these three ornaments today.
I have a Hallmark Gold Crown card. Yeah I have a card for most stores I frequent, but that's because it only makes sense. Why not get rewarded for shopping where I already shop? Anyway, I get coupons in the mail, and the most recent one from Hallmark alerted me to this weekend being a special event with ornaments. I had two coupons to choose from: one for $5 off $10 and one for $5 off $20. By purchasing an ornament today I earned a $5 coupon off my next purchase and if I purchased three ornaments, I got an additional 500 bonus points.
I had the rare luxury of having DH join me on our shopping trip. It's a child-free weekend and we had just had lunch out and I figured he could stand Hallmark. Well, it always helps if I could be more decisive, but I finally narrowed it down to these three today...
Three Little Angels: Three little angels, prayerful and meek... but one can't resist the temptation to peek! (from back of box)
These are so cute!!! I actually pinned these on Pinterest awhile back and I'm thrilled to be able to have them in our collection. Aren't they the cutest!!
Won't You Guide My Sleigh? : In the classic Christmas special Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Rudolph wins he heart of anyone who's ever appreciated the power of overcoming adversity. As Rudolph grows into his nose, he'll soon find himself with a pretty impressive task - bravely lighting Santa's way through the foggy night. (from back of box)
While we were debating back and forth on which ornament to get, I finally decided on this one. It's easy to get the kids an ornament of their favorite character, but at the end of the day, this is our family tree and we'll have these ornaments for decades to come. So after getting restless, we chose this ornament and I love it. I also love that the associate was very nice and if the ornament you wanted wasn't available, she would box up the display for you to purchase. This was the display and I'm glad they were so accommodating!
Jolly Santa: Christmas Eve is Santa's night -- his sleigh is set to go. He loads up every present with a jolly "Ho, Ho, Ho!" (from back of box)
Last but not least, is what I call Black Santa! lol I've been saying that all day annoying DH! But I'm sorry, I love me a black Santa! Not in overkill to where everything has to be that way, not at all. But as soon as I saw my Black Santa I knew I was getting him! I just like him, what can I say?
I grew up with the tradition of adding an ornament a year to the Christmas tree. Although my daughter is 7, our tree seems pretty bare to me for ornaments. I will probably be getting a few more of whatever's left between now and Christmas, especially since I have more coupons. It's one of the best parts of the holiday for me aside from getting a few things myself and enjoying watching the kids open their gifts.
Since the kids are away for the weekend, I am gonna see how long it takes them to notice the new ornaments!
