My First HauteLook Order

Wait for it...wait for it...


Yes it's a beauty post!!! I'll start by saying that I've actually been wanting to post since after Christmas bc I got some great beauty buys that I really wanted.  I wanted to show some looks with them, so that's why I haven't done those posts, but they will still come.  For now, I wanted to share my very first order from HauteLook.


For starters, what is HauteLook?  Well  it's a great site that is a designer sale site.  There are tons of  these kinds of sites out there, but HauteLook is the one I heard about  first.  I've known about them for maybe two years now.  But it wasn't until recently that I placed my first order.


Here's how it works:  It's a members-only sight.  There's no cost to join or anything like that.  They post sales from designers in categories of womens, mens, kids, home, beauty and travel.  Everyday different brands in different categories will go on sale.  On average they stay on sale for a couple of days.  There's a limited quantity.  But the deals are great!


That's just the jist of it.  Go to the site for the deets.  So the reason why I joined was for beauty products.  I've seen NYX Cosmetics, Josie Maran, Urban Decay, Stila Cosmetics, Laura Gellar makeup and more.  Usually I've missed out on the sales because I would check my email from my Blackberry and never really look at things.  But now that I have my Iphone, not only do I actually view my emails {because they come up in full without my needing to request for it to load images} and I also installed the app.  The app is why I bought this time around.


If you've been a reader for awhile, then you may recall before I used to say I'm not a MAC whore like so many makeup junkies are.  Well, I'm still not a MAC whore, but I am an Urban Decay whore. lol.  I truly ♥ all things Urban Decay!!!  Now this isn't a love letter for Urban Decay, but that is what I picked up this go around.  And for me this was the best way to get started, to get items I want to try but not pay the full price.  I also wanted to point out before I get into the products...they offer the different sales kinda often.  So let's say this week was Urban Decay and you missed out on it, in maybe 2-3 weeks Urban Decay might be featured again.  Not the same products necessarily.  So watch out for that, I've noticed over time.


Here's what I got:

I always like to see how items are presented.  Nice touch.

This is the 24/7 Shadow Pencil Stash.  It's their version of eyeshadow sticks.  They colors from left to right:  Delinquent, Rehab, Juju, Sin and Clash.  So far I've played with Rehab and Sin and I like!!

This was the main item I wanted because I am in love with the Urban Decay Primer Potion original.  There is no other eyeshadow primer in my book!  So this is a great way to try the other primer potions they offer.  Left to right: Original, Sin, Greed and Eden.

Now can I just say that I am a lil miffed that these items are also on sale on UrbanDecay.com lol but it's all good.  Usually from what I've seen, it's combinations of products and different groupings, and then they're discounted.  But oh well!  I still will be purchasing from them in the future.  Looking forward to clothing once I'm skinnier.  They have great designer fashion deals!  If you wanna check out HauteLook click here.
